in-car computer for motorola

3D Printed Prototype

This project was a part of a collaboration with Motorola Solutions Israel.

The goals:

  1. Come up with a unified installation solution for the majority of Sedan version car models being used by law-enforcement.
  2. Improve and modernize the appearance of the existing computer screen.

The requirements:

  • Installation should be simple and cost effective
  • Screen should be usable for both officers
  • Controls and Air conditioning vents could be accessed when needed
  • Airbags must not be blocked
  • Antennas reception should be improved
  • A connectors box must be added

Our solution:

An ultra thin, yet sturdy and tiltable screen. Antennas and buttons are seperate from it and located wisely. The computer replaces the radio in the din.
